The minister of house Union Amit Shah at a high-level security meeting at Jammu and Kashmir discussed problems such as terrorism, the more the threat of radicalization, the killing of civilians, and increased cross-border infiltration.
Local reports stated that security agents explained to Shah the reason for the threat of radicalization and terrorism planted at home, despite the high presence of Indian forces in the area, and a broad outreach program organized by the government. The report also claims that Shah is looking for an explanation of prolonged meetings and anti-terror operations.
Shah reviewed the security scenario at a meeting held at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar and was attended by the top civil administration officials, including Lieutenant Governor of Manoj Sinha, and senior security officials from the army, CRPF, police and other institutions, officials said.
His visit to Kashmir came in the background of 11 civil killings in the valley on October alone. Five of those who were killed were laborers from Bihar, while three, including two teachers, owned by a minority community in Kashmir.
The minister of house on Saturday also met with a family member of a Jammu and Kashmir police officer, who was killed in a militant attack which was the suspect last month. Shah, who arrived in Srinagar on a three-day visit, visited the Inspector’s residence that was killed with Jammu and Kashmir G Manoj Sinha, Union Min Jitendra Singh and DGP Dibbag Singh.
The Interior Minister met with the wife of Parvez Ahmed Fatima Akhter and gave him official letters for government work. “All countries with you. We will always remember the highest sacrifices made by Dar and police Jammu Kashmir,” Shah told the family.
During his first visit since the revocation of article 370, Shah would review the security situation in the valley. The interior minister was received at Srinagar Airport by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha where senior officials from the family and the Kashmir government were also present, officials said.
This was Shah’s first visit to Kashmir after revocation of Article 370 and Bifurkasi Botamu and Kashmir stated into two Union regions on August 5, 2019. Security was enhanced throughout Kashmir to the valley. Additional placement of security forces has been made throughout the valley, officials said.
